BONES

For the owner of this custom home who is passionate about wine, visible storage of the extensive wine collection was both a need and a want.

ABOUT THIS HOME

We responded with a custom wine storage unit complete with integrated cork puller that would openly store and display more than 100 bottles, with protected storage for the more valuable vintages.

Creative storage also played a hand in the kitchen. We replaced a traditional backsplash with custom cabinet doors that open to a behind-the-wall closet that provided secret, yet easily accessible, storage for small appliances – just lift the door and vóila! The coffee maker, stand mixer, and other kitchen gear are within easy reach without cluttering the counter.

Inside accents include timber-framed cathedral ceilings, locally sourced stone, and a comfy basement theater room with elevated seating. Through the accordion patio doors is a waterproof deck that keeps the ground-level patio completely dry in bad weather for outdoor enjoyment in all (most) conditions.

The exterior features a multitude of contrasting materials, including native stone, Corten steel, and stucco for a unique, Colorado architecture look.
