Hiwan

Our homeowners went in search of their forever home and were lucky enough to find it hiding within the walls of the home they already owned.

ABOUT THIS HOME

We started the remodel by gutting the home to the studs, then we replaced all the windows and doors and added an expansive deck with living room space both on the upper and lower floors. Brazilian cherry and marble give the previously outdated living room an element of sophistication, and the cable railing on the stairs to the second floor keeps the room open and the stairs light.

Custom lighting and woodwork on the dining room ceiling is both fashionable and functional; it gives the room plenty of light without feeling overwhelming. In the kitchen, the white cabinets keep the room bright while the dark cabinets under the island, which echo the built-in buffet in the dining room, add a touch of contrasting interest.

Upstairs, we reconfigured rooms to allow us to add volume to the master suite. The bedroom received a beam and shiplap ceiling finished in white, plus a modern fireplace to keep things cozy. The Japanese soaking tub and large walk-in shower give the master bath the spa-like feel the owners were looking for.
