BUCKEYE BUILD

This welcoming home features warm, locally sourced stone that wraps around the exterior, then carries through the front door and accents the main floor of the home. Heavy glulam timber beams both inside and out give the home substance without weighing it down. Once inside, they help draw a visitor’s eye to the large windows that frame mountain views.

ABOUT THIS HOME

The sommelier homeowner had ideas for specific design touches such as the wine dispenser in the kitchen and secret bottle storage in the stairs made to keep expensive bottles secure in a controlled environment. We also added hand-crafted details including handmade tile in the kitchen from the homeowners’ native Ohio, a built-in breakfast nook to accommodate a hungry crowd, and custom cabinetry and furnishings for the owner’s model trains.

Other comforts and conveniences built into this home include the expansive master closet with built-in storage, Japanese soaker tub in the master suite, in-floor radiant heat, library ladder in the butler’s pantry to make reaching the top shelves easy, office with a built-in granite work surface, and an outdoor shower for a convenient rinse-off after a soak in the hot tub.

The homeowners enjoy spending time outside, so outdoor spaces abound. Multiple decks and patios provide comfortable spaces for entertaining or simply relaxing while enjoying the sunset over the mountains.
